Chewing gum on leather seats

Somehow I must have sat on some chewing gum somewhere, resulting in it getting on my leather seats. I've got most of it off, but there's still some on and I don't want to scratch it off and scratch the leather...

Any ideas?

I seem to remember peanut butter loosens chewing gum that or freeze with an ice cube. Not sure if either of these are suitable for leather seats though!

Not had leather for a while but I found that Meths works where White Spirit fails on this sort of thing.

As usual with spirit of any kind have some polish ready to cover the area affected.
