Hi Nathan,

I've done nearly 7,500 miles in mine. Whilst washing the car the other day, I noticed I had several chips on my bumper and bonnet. There have been lots of discussion here about the thin paint they spray on cars nowadays, so all I can say is, get used to it...! SORRY!

The secret with stone chips is not to try and fill the chip in one go with a single blob of paint.

Use a tiny paint brush and put the smallest amount in you can and let it dry, then do it again, slowly building it up.

Then when it is just proud of the surface cut it back with some mild abrasive taking care not to rub the surrounding area too much.

I've used Brasso on a thin single layer cloth wrapped round a lolly stick with good effect.

Before the job starts the lolly stick needs to be fully loaded, quite partial to a Walls Magnum

Brodick - £4 for a touch up seems like a bargain - no wonder you love your dealer!!!

Did you not get a touch up kit with the car? Mine was in the glove box.
Looks like some cheeky dealers are keeping these to sell on!

I went to a couple of dealers and must have sat in at least half a dozen different civics over the 8 months or so prior to ordering.

ALL had a Chip Kit in the glove box!

Then again the roads in Ireland are worse than the UK so maybe this is considered a necessity here!

Mine came FOC but they had to order it.

I must say though that the Honda Galaxy kit is a very close match - unlike my last 3 cars where the manufacturers supplied pens have been a mile off and the Halfords kits were a far closer match.

Just out of interest, did you get a lacquer pen as well or just the paint?

Peugeot touch up's came with both.

Halfords don't do a Galaxy Grey kit

My Honda freebie was just a touch-up bottle with brush incorporated in the cap, no lacquer.
