Superguard or not
Advise Please.
I am pondering superguarding the civ, The car is 2 month old and i have currently been using the Autogyn Polish , Finished off with Top Gloss (Extra protection). Is this similar to Superguarding or is it totally different. What i dont want to do is superguard paintwork and be dissapointed with the finish as i get good results with my current products. |

I advise you not to waste your money. I paid for it when i got my civic and to be honest i cant see what its done. Save your money and carry on what you have been doing. I spent £200 on having mine done only to still be polishing it and getting it looking far better

ie, do you think it may enhance the shine, or have you had similar results on prev cars without the protector. |

i got far better results on previous cars which never had the supagard. If you look on ebay the supagard stuff is only like £20 or something. Its nothing special and is an expensive rip off.
So basically it doesnt enhance the shine even when polishing after. Your far better off saving your money and buying a decent polish ie autoglym, meguiars. Youll have a far better result. All this you wont need to polish your car for 3 yrs is utter rubbish. |

Yes it probably does but i didnt polish my car for the first month of owning it and if youd seen it in the flesh you would certainly not have thought it had supposedly been supagarded.

I've got DiamomdBrite dealer applied and so far it is continuing to bead the water.
It is only with time that I think I can decide whether it is better then polishing/waxing. |

Mine was £172 from the dealer.
That included the outside and a treatment for the inside similar to Scotchguard. Only time will tell. |

I had Millie 'Diamond Brited' from new.
I paid more than most seem to suggest on here, but had no comparisons to make at the time. Initially impressed, but it didn't make getting rid of bird poo any easier and I have recently noticed swirl marks appearing so it doesn't seem to give protection there either. On application the stealers lads left the Diamond Brite compound on the rubbers around the door and it wasn't too easy to get it off! I've now started to use the Turtle Wax Platinum stuff and Millie is now shinning brighter than new. .....maybe the Diamond Brite stuff might have helped, but it's a large price to pay for just 'reasonable' job. That's interesting.
I have no swirl marks (yet) as I have found that they are usually down to my over vigourous polishing. So far I have just washed the car and adopted a regime of a very light wipe with a Vileda window cloth (best synthetic chamois in my opinion) to remove most of the water then finish off with a Meguiars Water Magnet cloth. The one thing I have noticed with the DB is that any surface dust/muck does seem to wash off a whole lot easier from the glazed finish of the DB. My dealer didn't get any DB where it shouldn't have been on mine, fortunately. |

Remember, as soon as you polish your car, any supaguard protection is removed.
In my opinion, the product itself probably isn't that bad. Not great, but ok. Personally I'd just buy some polish and wax and do it myself. Quote:
Honda paint is extremely soft and marks very easily. You'll have plenty of marks - just silver/dark grey is very good at hiding them. Try looking at a clean panel in direct sunlight... you'll heart will sink. |

I was going to get diamondbrite paid £200 but decided to cancel as you cant use your own polish/wax on it. You have to "top up" the finish once a month with the conserver.

Got mine booked in for a full supagard inc panoramic roof (yes it can be done) and interior protection the total cost £5.00. I would highly recommend it and you will find that if you look on ebay you will get the paint protection for little more than £5.00. It is dead easy to apply aswell no need for it to be done at the dealership and lasts ages. I buy suapgard equivalent packs for about £50.00 and they contain absolutely everything you can imagine.
