Touching up "Aluminium" trims

As you all know these chip quite easily to show the black plastic underneath.

A cheap solution to this is to get a silver coloured gel pen (anyone with a young daughter should be able to get one easily enough) from any office supply shop.

Just then dab the nip of the pen around the chipped area - job done!

Not sure about durability - but it does solve the problem for a while anyway.

You forgot to mention that you must NOT let your daughter see you doing that!

......the consequences could be disaster!

Interesting, I was considering that and decided that it probably would do more damage, but yeah, if the colour is right then should be ok.
I might try and get one, did you use one in particular Spud?

No it was just a best guess colour wise - not 100% but as near as damn it.

I'll take a look at what brand it was and post as some of them will only work on paper, this one comes out on any surface.

if you could do that Spud, that'd be great.

I never thought I'd be asking another grown man what make silver pen is best to use!

Hi Gav,

Sorry - kept forgeting to take the pen out of the glovebox and was then too lazy to go back out to the carpark.

The pen is a silver "Jimnie Gel Rollerball" - I'd say most work, but try it in the shop first - see if it will leave ink on a metal/plastic display if so your good to go!

If I get caught doing graffiti round WH Smiths I'll tell them that Spud put me up to it!
