Quick Detailing?

I think I will buy a quick detailer but I dont know which one to get......

Whats the best quick detailer available from halfords?
Megauirs have a new ultimate one, an nxt one and one called quik detailer too...are these the best or another one?
Name your favourite and why.........

Are they really that easy as spray on and wipe off, how come then you dont get scratches from the dirt on the car with no suds?

How dirty can the car be before I use them?

I've tried a few and the Megauirs Speed Detailer one came out best in my opinion.

I have only applied it on a clean Millie though.

I just spray it on, wipe it with a micro fibre cloth, then polish with yet another micro fibre cloth.

Result, amazing!

......and it's easy too.

You will get scratches if the car is dirty. It's a 'Detailer'; not a car wash. I stick with Meguiars. It gets rid of the dust from being parked in the garage for a spell. Quick 'n' easy and leaves a great shine.

So basically, if you can see the dirt, then its too dirty for the quick detailers. But if you need to swipe your finger across the paint to check if its dirty and it is, then its time for a quick detail job.

True? or has anyone sucessufully used it without scratches on small visible dirt such as dirty water splash around wheel arches and bumpers?

You can get more info from the Meguiars website.

Have a look here:

http://www.meguiars.com/?car-maintenance/Quik-Detailer

The new 'Ultimate Quik Detailer' looks well worth a try.

If its too dirty, then give it a rinse with the hose first to wash away the dirt/dust that may scratch your car. Then spray the QD over the car whilst its still wet and dry with a microfibre. This will leave a gleaming streak free finish!

With regards to what QD spray, I've bought this one after reading good reviews. I've used it and it aint arf good!

Hope this helps,

You might be luckier at your local 'independent' motorist shop. I found several Meguiars items at our one* in Railway Terrace, Rugby, that the big Halfords didn't have. These larger 'Nationals' tend to only stock the top selling 20% of a manufacturers range. Or, you could try going direct to the Meguiars 'on-line' shop.

http://www.meguiars.co.uk/?car-maint.../Quik-Detailer

Click on the left-hand menu 'Ultimate Quik Detailer'; or click on 'SHOP' then 'ENTHUSIAST' then 'MAINTAIN' (Double click). You can buy it direct for £11.99 for 650ml (+ Postage).

Ps: *The Motorist Centre, 100 Railway Terrrace, Rugby. CV21 3EZ. 01788 574942. They may have a branch closer to where you live.

You'd be better off getting the quick clay system. Then you get a bottle of quick detailer and some clay !

Well, I've just ordered my first spray bottle of Meguiars Ultimate Quik Detailer, after viewing the video,as my stock of the ordinary Quik Detailer is getting low. I got it direct from the Meguiars on-line shop for £11.99 including free postage. I'm also getting their Water Magnet drying cloth as I've read some good reports about it. That was also £11.99 with free postage.

I've been very pleased with the ordinary Quik Detailer and also the Quik Wax, which is easy to apply and polish off, so this new 'Ultimate' should be ace!

Can't wait to give them both a try-out.
