Just washed the car again and to my horror, have discovered three stone chips on the bonnet and a slightly kerbed off-side front alloy wheel.
My question to you guys is; do you think this is a job for "Chips Away"? I've heard good reports about them but thought I'd ask for a few opinions here first. Please let me know what experiences you've had. Some pics are attached below but you'll probably be better off clicking on these links for the full-size, hi-res versionsto see the chips better: Image#01 Image#02 Image#03 Image#04 (I didn't want to bog this site down with huge jpegs!) I haven't pictured the alloy; it's very minor but I'd still like it looked at along with the chips asap. Cheers! |

I didn't get the repair pencil in my glove box
Chipsaway did a reasonably good job on my old car and my wife's Yaris, but they were both high mileage motorway cars with bonnets that were peppered with lots of chips. I would have thought it would be expensive for just for 3 chips. Again, go the DIY route. |

Turtle Wax Red Chipstick will mask them well and very cheap. I used one on my last car and you had to look very closely to see them
Alloys can be sorted by ChipsAway for £40 |

Not sure if it helps, but my local dealer (Ash in Yeovil) will get the guy out who preps their cars for the forecourt and do all the minor chips and scratches on the car for 60 quid. Maybe your local dealer has something along the same lines. I had my cosmic grey ep3 done after someone kindly opened a door on to the rear wheel arch which left a bit of a dent and nasty chunk of paint missing and he did a fantastic job.

Had a couple of chips on Millie's bonnet.
Got shot of them with Halfords chip repair stuff. http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/s...tegoryrn_33970 You get a couple of pen type applicators, one a filler and one in the reqd colour. With a steady hand your motor will be looking georgeous again. "Adolescence, It's that bit between puberty and adultery!" Charles H. Last edited by Charles_Harding; 30th July 2007 at 16:42. |
