I certainly wouldn't bother with this again, or Supagard etc. A few coats of a decent polish will give the same result. Save £180 and spent £20 on some decent polish and cloths.

Question Permagard ?

I am not sure how good permagard is

The website claims it is something special / longer lasting than the usual stuff

Permagard - A Paint Protection System and* Durable Alternative to traditional Cleaning or Valet Services

If you do go for it let us know what you think

Try 3-4x that amount on mitts, towels, and so forth - but point made otherwise.
Same £200 or so over 3 years and time invested in proper car care, and you'll have car looking practically factory fresh.

The permagard looks like a good idea to me - if it works. The idea being to avoid regular cleaning and polishing , which even if you are very careful is likely to result in a build up of cleaning scratches over the years. I know there are loads of things on the market that are no better than a self applied polish that you can do yourself in a couple of hours. Have a look at the permagard website.

I say save your money and invest in some polish yourself. I use the Autoglym range and there is nothing better than washing and polishing your new car on your drive while your neighbours watch you in envy!!

Key words being "if it works" - which I'm absolutely certain isn't the case.
Great idea in theory - but theory and practice are often two very different things.
As you'll have seen from the image I posted in one of those threads, the 'guard treatment failed to protect the sample for 24 hours, just like Autoglym did, just like others did - only the manufacturer's own product did.
If these products can't last 24 hours, what chance do you think they stand of lasting 2, 3, 5 years?

Please dont use 'Polish' as a term for waxing your car or applying a protective coat (Paint sealers).
Polish contains abrasives and should only be used to remove swirls and surface contaminents.
Sorry to sound so pedantic.
DONT BUY any of these coatings from a dealer.
They are on MASSIVE commission.
If you really want them, go on eBay, buy there for £10 or less and apply it yourself.
This is the best site Ive found for advice: www.polishedbliss.com

Thanks Robbo51 !!

The Polished Bliss website gives an excellent guide to car washing , cleaning and protecting etc . These guys take their car care VERY seriously.

I would recommend adding this link to the WIKI for the car care advice.
