Tints on a NHB - YAY or NAY?
Anyone who HAS tints, would you like to comment on your driving experience with them to date?
Ok am considering getting windows tinted on a NHB - whats ive read is 70% is legal. Now, in contradiction, also read most car windows in showrooms are already only letting in 70% light so what gives? can i get tints (legally) on front and back or not? If so, what's the best treatment, what percentage should i ask for? Thanks Last edited by psykik; 4th October 2007 at 03:20. |

before i had my civic,i had a honda stream with tints, i was told you can have the rear windows as dark as u like, but the front can legally only be 75% tint wich most cars come as standard.

there are some useful threads on tinting, (do a search for 'tint'), but this one caught my eye:
http://www.civinfo.com/forum/general...ting-plod.html I have no idea what the standard tint level is as they leave the factory though, sorry On a personal note, tinting just the rears turns almost any car (and a black one in particular) into a van And tinting the front windows is, again in my opinion, just plain asking for trouble. Both from the police, and the driver of the car / bike which you pulled out in front of becuase you didn't see them. But hey - if you want to tint, tint away You may also want to check out this thread http://www.civinfo.com/forum/buying/...un-blinds.html |

If you're just going to do the rears, why not buy the Honda sum blinds? It will darken them slightly and if you don't like the look you can just take them out

m4rky - thanks, never thought of sun blinds.
TTDegs: cheers, excellent link there. Really made me think twice. Ok, am still unsure, need to actually visit a tinting shop and see an actual tinted car from the inside to check whats its going to be like first. If it does turn it "into a van", its a no go... |

I agree with van idea - Im thinking of just having the rear windscreen done - as my Civic in NHB - from rear will look sweet!!
then from side pretty normal - non van like!! -darkness from rear if I get quite dark will make whole side and front view darkened. thoughts??yeah or ney?? |

I've seen this in another thread. As I said at the time it reminds me of a cheap tacky Christmas tree bauble.
