Question Door 'dinked' by another door - help!

I went to a Christening yesterday, loads of sprogs getting in and out of cars doors all around the car park and one of them has 'dinked' my door. It's right on the line that runs across the door and although no dent, thankfully, a big white mark has been left behind which I'm hoping means the paint hasn't been damaged.

My first instinct was to try and T-Cut it out, but I've just been scared to death by a thread stating T-Cut can be quite abrasive!

Any suggestions guys?

What was the colour of the "dinker's" car? If white it's most likely his paint on your door. In this case I would try a rubber eraser (gently)

Try a bit of Auto Glym polish, it has an extremely fine abrasive in it and will probably do the trick.

If it's the other car's paint on the clearcoat, then either a clay bar (more aggressive one like the Bilt Hamber I use and recommend highly, rather than the Meguiar's one) or a polish with a soft foam pad (Menzerna 91 or 85/3.02) - but these'd be better done by an orbital machine.
I doubt hand polishing, esp. with a light abrasive would much - but there's no harm in trying before you find a detailer in your area to use his machine on it.
£10 -15 should be all he'd need charge, depending on whether you go to him or how far he has to travel to you.

My dealership use a polish (I have no idea what it is) but it is amazing at getting scratches and marks off the car, they tipped some into a bottle for me. Maybe your dealership have the same stuff, im sure they wouldnt charge you just to try and polish it out.

I had one the same on my NHB rear passenger door.

I used a little bit of T-cut and polished it straight after. Completely vanished.

I hadn't read that bit about T-cut being too abrasive, but it can't be any more abrasive than a car door rubbing against your paint.

Agreed, plus if you polish it after it shouldn't be too bad.

this may sound stupid but lynx underarm because it has alcohol content removes rubber bumper/mirror scufs and does not damage paint not sure if this will do the job on your mark on door
