Toms cleaning..........

Hi Guys and Gals,

Hopefully on Thursday I'll be doing my deep clean before winter, so as the car has not been washed for about 3 weeks and several mucky motorway journeys.....................anyone fancy me doing a before and after with some in between shots????????????????

ATB,
Tom

The poor thing would feel naked if stripped of its protective layer of dirt!

To tell you the truth, we did invite him to a car wash but he insisted that it was not time for his yearly car wash yet.
and its only going to get a thicker layer of dirt protection as its going to be another 8 months before its a year isnt it Wheelie?

July 28th is wash day! Or maybe I'll tell the dealer to leave it for another year!

Right here goes guys........ apologies for some re-used pics, some didn't come out others were blurred from the occasional rain.......

Car as it started (Wheelchair how does it compare):

Click the image to open in full size.

Now firstly I do the wheels, dirtiest bit, so get rid of some of the muck there first........ Halford Foam cleaner, a brush and a jetwasher:

Click the image to open in full size.

Oh and I did the exhausts here:

Click the image to open in full size.

Click the image to open in full size.

Wait five minutes for the wheel stuff to work it's magic, and in this time agitate it using a brush to get into where the nuts are and around the badge:

Click the image to open in full size.

Next I spray the car with tar remover: Halfords own is crap, I used it today and it took forever to remove:

Click the image to open in full size.

And I sprayed AG machine and engine cleaner under the car and scrubbed it for a few minutes then jet washed it off (I payed attention to wheel arches and the exhaust system here):

Click the image to open in full size.

Then I Jet washed the front of the car to remove the tar remover, then I washed the car over with a wash mitt and some warm soapy water (BH car wash). I dried the car by using a squeegee thingy , and cleaned between all the panel gaps and by the front grill perspex:

Click the image to open in full size.

Heres what it looks like then:

Click the image to open in full size.

Now came the fun, I applied my collinite to the bonnet and wings:

Click the image to open in full size.

Click the image to open in full size.

and while I waited for that to dry I coated all the trim and tyres:

Click the image to open in full size.

Then I treated the wheels and exhaust to a coat of AG alloy wheel seal:

Click the image to open in full size.

By this time the wax was dry and could be buffed off (note I did put three coats on but I only showed one coat being done here).

The wheels looked like this:

Now look like this:

And the paintwork now looks like this:

So thats it, then just to polish the windows, apply some WD40 to the underside of the car, and engine, then do all the door locks, hinges and struts so they're ready for winter (oh and I take time to check tyre pressure, fluid levels wiper quality etc.).

So thats all there is to it, from this:

to this:

So, thats it from me:

My Galaxy Grey is about that dirty, but it doesn't show up that much due to the colour.

I'll have to drive over some muddy fields!
