honda offered sealant

Hello, quick question, I purchased a 2010 black 2.2 GT last week, the dealer offered me a paint care package for £300 which is basically a spray inside and out, apparently it stop's scratches and the like appearing on the outside and stains on the seats etc on the inside. Do you guys reckon it's a catch? I can't remember the exact name of the process either.. It is guaranteed for 8 years too.. What do you reckon?

Sounds like Supagard, which is typically offered by dealers.

Personally, I don't think it's worth it. Having seen my friend's 56-reg NHB EX, which had Supagard from new, the paintwork has scratches all over... can't say my friend looks after his car much but having done only 16k miles, the protection seems to have done very little.

Its the Dealers getting extra dosh from the purchaser of a new car..
It certainly wont stop scratches and if you did want to do it yourself, you can buy it off ebay for £25 or so.
Not worth it - dont waste your money.
P.S. I can remember being in a Dealership ( not a Honda one), where the sales guy was telling some poor s-d, that it would help prevent stone chips.

eBay "supaguard" or "diamond brite" or any other of these products... Cost about £20 but dealers charge a fortune for the labour and sales team get commissions.

I got supaguard free when I got my ctr, it's great for the interior scotch guard but externally it's a waste of time.

If it's not free- don't bother. That's just my opinion though.

Exactly this.

We got it on Jayne's NHB EX, waste of time on the paint. Jayne's nails have scratched all of the finish near the driver side door handle...
