I had a go at them quickly last night. They are much stiffer than I thought they would be. This is just fine when polishing corners or edges specially when combined with a stiffer pad. Yesterday I managed to polish 3000 grit sanding marks with a Scholl spider pad from really tight areas that I would normally use a 4" pad. But for an everyday backing plate I would probably go for a 3M like one.

Cheers, ordering the flexipads ones which look like the 3M & are soft.
