Wheel detail (pics)

I was hoping the weatherman had it wrong today as I'm itching to try the DAS6, but alas he was right and it's been bucketing it down most of the day.

I decided not to let the rain stop me from doing something, so I went out between showers and whipped the wheels off, two at a time, for a good detail. AFAIK they've never had anything but a quick wash and polish, so they were pretty grubby..

So first things first.. a good blather with my new alloy cleaner; Wolf's Decon Gel..

after 5 mins..

After about 10 mins I started agitating it the worst areas and the Wolf's was instantly showing promice. I spent the next couple of mins getting right in to the corners..

A good blast with the jetwash showed that the Wolf's had done an awesome job! Really impressed with this product..

Next job was going round the wheels inside and out removing tar spots with AGTR.

Meanwhile, outside..

Another quick rinse and dry and it was time to try another product I've had for a while; Planet Polish Seal & Wax. This stuff is easy, easy off with a great result. The alloy looks super shiny and feels lovely and smooth

Here's the final result after a quick wipe over with AGTD..

Nice and clean, ready to refit. Just another 3 to do

Cheers for looking

Looks good.
You should paint your calipers when the weatherman gives you the go ahead.

I've got the paint ready to go, mate. I was gonna wait until the pads ran out and I was replacing the disc and pads, but they're lasting ages

Nice work mate - as an owner of the same wheels albeit in white I know what a soul destroying sight it is after doing all that work - then after 2 miles of use the wheels looking like you haven't cleaned them in a year. Stupid dusty oem pads

Well done
The OEM pads are dreadful for brake dust anrnt they?
I ditched them and replaced with Greenstuff ones...Massive difference!
Better braking and less than half the dust

Nice effort, thanks for the heads of on the products, I had my brakes done a while ago and whilst the wheels were off I cleaned the inside rims, was working against the clock as mechanic was not prepared to hang about waiting for me to do a perfect job but amazing what a few minutes cleaning can do.
