Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, 16 hour paint correction and glaze-erific
Hello all
Firstly I set about yesterday decontaminating the car. So i had to remove the 3 layers of wax which was still beading strong, de iron, de tar, clay and all the fun stuff that goes with it Tools of choice of decontaminating ![]() ![]() My formula for stripping wax after initial foam with apc it was onto apc mixed with fairy liquid mixed with ag body shampoo ![]() Wheels before there's not many afters but let me just say ag clean wheels cuts through it seriously quickly im guessing its acid based hence why i havent used it until now! ![]() Purple rain doing its business ![]() The car was Foamed with apc then washed with my formula Then onto purple raining and tardising the whole car including rear badge which had crap build up! Onto the clay.... BH regular with fairy and water in a spray bottle as lube always does the job i havent taken a pic of the clay as it was unevenful due to claying a few months ago but this time i clayed the windows. ![]() Even inside the fuel cap was cleaned with the special formula and detailing brush ![]() Next up a few images of the defects unfortunately no 50/50s as being the second day of being in 30 degree sun for 10 hours i wasnt messing about Nothing major few swirls ![]() Now this was bugging me!!!!! no idea how it got their but previously 205 didnt touch it and it was eye height as you get in the car on the roof so everytime i got in i saw it!!!! (correction photo in the final shots) ![]() I polished using mainly scholl s17 as a single stage on a white chem guys ex pad which went wellexcept i found s17 to be horrendouly dusty and i wiped the car down 5 times after and still had dust! i also used 105 and refined with 205 on some of the bigger defects! I applied the glaze by da on a black chem guys hex the only towels i used where the blue eurow which are a must for anyone they are amazing! Now for some post polish pre glaze shots ..... This is one of my favourites ![]() My old mans shiney exhausts (he polishes them every week near enough) ![]() Remeber that damn scratch that annoyed the hell out of me well this is where it was after a hit of 105 and refined with 205 ![]() Now onto glazed shots with amigo let me say this is a must have best thing ive ever ever bought! when applying you can see areas where it isnt it darkends your paint insanely its so easy to use and buff off 10/10 and the results speak for theirselves I love this shot ![]() Another of my favs ![]() ![]() Now i wanted to apply rg55 by hand but my paint was baking hot i mean out in the sun all day hot at 30 degrees! so i got out my trustee britemax vantage and waxed a panel at a time removing as soon as it cured (instantly pretty much) Kostas style shot ![]() Sorry about the poor quality images due to the iphone!!!! (no i didnt do the trim, tyres or windows and being badly burnt from the sun it was time to draw a close for the week) * with thanks to, Wayne, Shaun, kostas and TLC detailing for their advice on this detail and products used Hope you all enjoyed Let me know what you think Ill end on a high my favourite image im titling it "a miniature world in a wing mirror"
