Cleaning mats

Hi guys,

Just after some advice on cleaning the mats in my FN2, I was thinking of just spraying them with Magifoam next time I foam it? The colour had faded and I don't think they have ever been cleaned properly. How else could I do it and would magifoam damage them??

Wouldn't use magifoam tbh, you'd be better off with a good soaking of diluted all purpose cleaner with hot water.

Don't think magi will do anything really. Buy the cheapest apc, 29p asda last time I looked. Give the mats a good soaking and agitate with a stiff brush, leave to dwell then thorughly rinse off then natural dry

Hi mate thanks for the comments. No not a pro, just an enthusiast who's been doing it for a while. Tbh the dearest wax I have is £25 as I don't see a lot of difference to my eye between boutique waxes and run of the mill stuff. I use a sealant on my car personally but have topped up with collinite 915 for the winter. You will get loads of different answers for your budget, you could post on detailing world and see what they suggest.

My plan is to snow, wash, clay, polish with menzerna 4000 as only got light swirls since last major polish, then seal with Autobrite nano seal, followed by a couple of coats of HD wax

The front end was resprayed about 2 weeks ago, I've got some autoglym intensive tar remover and Autobrite purple rain, to be honest don't know how to use them, do I just spray it on and leave for a while?? If so how long?

Detar first, spray lower part of the car and leave for a few mins then wipe off with microfibre towel. Then apply purple rain all over your car and leave for 5 mins or so then just power wash it all off. Then rewash your car then onto clay

To the OP, Purple Rain takes a bit longer to work, leave for 10-15 minutes, works great on your alloys also.

Yeah I tried I on the wheels this morning but I keep them so clean nothing happened lol, also the temperature might have something to do with it as the water from my pressure washer was freezing as soon as it hit the car
