CPL Race Manifold (FN2)

We are often asked for information on our CPL FN2 manifold. Below is a list of features and relevant information:
- Developed in house over a period in excess of 1 year in order to ensure optimal design and quality, extensively dyno tested and road tested to ensure durability
- All stainless steel construction (Grade 304) including flanges
- High quality Tig welds
- Welds are back-purged (back-purging is a process used when welding high quality pipework when full penetration of the weld is required, it results in a totally smooth weld on the inside as well as the outside). The back-purging process used on the CPL manifold is the same process that is used in Formula 1 exhaust manifold construction
- Highest quality fabrication techniques used
- Has optimal compatability with the Hondata Group N ECU, as the ECU was tuned specifically with the CPL Racing manifold
- Pipe diameters and lengths optimized for best horsepower and torque gains throughout entire rev range
- Direct fit with standard and aftermarket catback systems
- Little to no increase in exhaust noise
- Suitable for both naturally aspirated and supercharged cars
- Lightweight, only 5.4 kilos compared with standard manifold which weighs 13.8 kilos
- Economical to ship as comes in 4 sections which fit in a small box (this is particularly important for our overseas customers for which shipping a 1-piece manifold can be expensive)
- Realistically priced for such a high quality manifold at £749 excluding VAT
Below is some feedback we have found on the forums regarding the CPL manifold

David – Poland (Civicinfo forum)
“I have had fitted CPL 4-2-1 Race Manifold and the first impression of driving feelings is astonishing! I don't know how many BHP comes on the engine, but I really feel the difference, Significant much more power is available now !”

Nuno – Portugal (civictype-r forum)
“Today I decided to take my car to shop and fit the CPL exhaust manifold and a RRC intake manifold.

I went to one of top racing teams in Portugal that have won the Portuguese touring championship some years ago with a Ep3 ctr by jas motorsport, raced DC5 integra"

Thumbs up

I have this manifold and Hondata ECU , and the feeling is very good , it definitely pulls much harder trough the rev range !
After power upgrade you will feel that you need an LSD, too

Is it correct you need to remove all of the dashboard, to remove the manifold? Or can it be done more easily?

Hi,

The exhaust manifold is easily accessable from underneath the car.

Fitting is as easy as removing the cars stock manifold and catalytic converter and replacing with the race manifold.

Indeed. Fitting is quiet easy, but I recommend some potential buyers to do it with PRO. I'm very happy with CPL exhaust manifold, now I'm waiting (this week )for RRC JDM intake manifold buyed from CPL again . What I can say - they are PRO.

took us a while to fit it...you could also get the manifold off by taking the weather guard, cowl top off...

just to add what CPL said- the manifold transforms the car...the pull and flow is so much better...highly recommend it..expensive but well worth it if you want the best gains

guy- i should do all your advertising lol

without a lift it is best if you remove the windshield wipers cladding and the aluminium metal plate.

I had the CPL-Manifold in connection with the Hondata Reflash ECU.
I was not satisfied with the Manifold of CPL-Racing.
in the lower speed range, he was clearly worse to drive or has clearly lax. in higher speed range he was not so much spinning happily.
from 4500 rpm, I have a greater thrust to observe.

this should not serve to CPL-Racing bad to talk, because I quite happy with the service.

Your feedback is always appreciated but I can only imagine that something else in your setup caused the lack of power that you experienced as you are the only customer who has ever reported this, additionally the manifold that you purchased from us, I believe is now owned by fat4y who has experienced the opposite to you as per his comments above.

I would also like to add some info regarding fitting of our manifold as there seems to be some confusion.

Without a shadow of doubt a ramp is needed to fit this to make life easy

There are no parts that need to be removed from above

With the car on a ramp/lift all of the fitting can be carried out from under the car

If there are any more questions regarding fitting feel free to post them.

Yes, I agree with you CPL. I recived some PM concernig installation of CPL manifold from other user and he has some gas leaks problem during instalation so I think is easy to screw up something. I'm very happy with CPL manifold, soon I'll compare with TODA manifold. I'm pretty sure it would be very similar gains to CPL manifold. Anyway , It is not a spaceship technology indeed, and there so many manifolds for SI on the US market (Buddy Club, Hi tech, DC sport, etc) all of them showing us a similar gains +/- 3 hp. These 3hp are not noticable during driving.
This is mine opinion regarding manifolds.

I have the manifold mounted correctly and everything was tight.
I remain convinced that with my car everything is in order.
I had a direct before and after comparison.
I had neither a pit or a lift, so I had to part from the top of the car/engine. I have the car with two jacks lifted gently upward.

Ultimately, everyone must know what convinced him and what not.

With my current modifications, it is much better anyway!
And also with legal catalyst, which is very important to germany roads!

NDFN2 please do not get me wrong, I'm not trying to say that you have done something wrong, no,no. I'm tellin you tha this Manifold transorm my car, dinoc car , nunoctr and one guy from russia as well, so it's little bit weird, you know what I mean?
Next week I'll compare with TODA manifold. Frirend of mine has purschased already and waiting for fitting, than we do a rolling road racing, and then I would tell more concerning CPL. Is good enough or not. If is not good enough, I'll buy a TODA .

Cheers !
