I have my TomTom 510 mounted on the flat surface of the dash. Found a black plastic disc on eBay, that sticks securely to any flat surface.
The sat nav mount is not as visible from the outside as sticking it on the screen.

Could work.

Is for a Garmin Nuvi 760.

Are the suction cups between manafactures a standard size?

I don't think there is any standard size for suction cups. If it's any help to you, the TomTom 510 measures 70mm in diameter. The black plastic disc is about 80mm.

I have a Garmin StreetPilot 2820 (it also fits on my motorcycle) and it comes with what's called a "Bean bag mount". Basically it's a rubberised pad with the GPS mount in the middle and a heavy weight (bean bag) on each corner to hold the rubberised pad down on the dash. It works very effectively, even with the StreetPilot, which is quite a heavy unit. Even with very fast cornering, it stays put.

I have a Garmin Nuvi with a friction mount. It's really good, amazingly it never moves, even when nipping round roundabouts really quick!

I use one similar to the above on my Garmin GPSMAP 60. It works very well, but look a bit clumsy imo.

It does look a bit big and clumsy sitting there (where i was planning on putting it BTW).

Do you have any other photos of it there?
