VSA-vehicle stability assist

Has anybody had a problem with the VSA ?
It came on and stayed on which when referred to in the handbook could be a problem but when re-set (i.e turned the engine off and on) it seemed o.k. Drove a little way and no problem.
Would appreciate any feedback.

Nick

I could be wrong here, and it's too cold to go outside and check, but I think the VSA light also comes on when it is turned off, could you have accidently hit the VSA switch. I do know that it switches itself back on when you re-start the car and the light goes out. Just a thought.

Thanks for the reply Dimply.
I don't think it was accidently knocked- the Wife was driving at the time!! She's pretty switched on -most of the time-bless her !!I'll just have to keep an eye on it and if it happens again i'll phone the dealer.
Cheers .

No problem Nick, you'll probably get a few more replies from other members, someone may have had this problem themselves.

I use it a lot - icy roads here now, and so far the VSA has functioned well.

Its not uncommon for it to do this.
Its a glitch in the system which rectifys itself.
It probably wont do it again

I had a similar issue on Sunday just gone. Driving home and the warning appeared. I just pulled over, turned the car off and restarted and it went off. It was cold that day aswell

Blimey - if you went for a spin it probably means the VSA wasn't working at all.... LOL!

VSA System

Hello,

I have had problems with my VSA system

The light kept comming on and on one accassion the VSA system light came on and when I turned the corner the VSA system kicked in and slowed down the car.

Took the car down to the garage and they found thay it was the YUR sensor (Or something sounding like that)

They said that they havent had this problem before and didnt know how long it would take to replace the part.

That'll be the yaw sensor. It can be replaced in about 4 minutes, possibly plus some calibration time.

That would be the 'yaw' sensor they were talking about. It measures the left/right rotation of the car along with other sensors for speed and steering angle to identify understeer/oversteer.
