I will concur that in the UK asking for the nearest Pub only to be offered a route into France is not really helpful.

Obvioulsy they haven't heard of the local Dog & Duck
POI's.... I've actualy worked out where they are in the database, (the Honda Dealers POI's that is), and I was looking at working out a way of replacing them with something useful (like cams).

The database is not a 'standard' sort of layout, and has compression on areas (looks like standard LZH stuff).

I'm trying to work out if the new 3.22 disk has a newer version of the windows ce kernel on it (4.2 SP3 or higher), as the 3.6 one is 4.2 SP1 and a lot more work to do stuff to.

I've sorta got a way to launch other 3rd party compiled applications up, need some more work, but I want the latest Windows CE, as I can use .Net CF then instead of writing everything in C (and my C skill's are very rusty!)

If anyone is willing to let me have a copy of the Kernel area, and/or the database for the map data/poi's then I can dig a bit deeper.

Hopefully you have not put your home address into the sat. nav. If anyone were to steal your car they know you are out and soon they will know where you live too! Not only will you have no car but house ransacked also.

I assume you can find your way from a fairly local address?? Put that in sat nav just in case.

Loaded my 3.22 this morning.

Removed 3.05, inserted new WE 3.22, got a message that the new firmware was older than the old firmware but after a few seconds it continued anyway with the 'don't turn off' message.

Rebooted and the diagnostic menu looks correct for the new DVD.

Strange about the firmware error message though !

Well it rebooted and loaded the map and got my location correct

If I don't post anything tomorrow morning then can you send out a search party ?

Even though I think I know where I live I'm going to use the "Go Home" command later and see where I end up.
