I have had this with my Civic about for or five times in the last 10 months or so. The last time was Sunday just past. I am sure (well I have convinced myself so I must be right) that the red LED was not flashing in the dash either. I was just about to use the key on the drivers door when I decided to press the 'lock' button. Strangely this worked, yet the car wasn't unlocked. I know I am not going mad as I had a witness with me. Oh well, the service is due and this can be added to the list of things to discuss.

Thumbs down

Just read all the problems others have had with the remote locking.
Mine has been intermittant now for a couple of months. I have been to the dealer twice now to get the squeeky windows fixed asked them to check the key and twice they have told me that the key is fine, but they have changed the battery in it anyway.
Having left the dealer on Wednesday, still no change. I now have to drop my car off for 3 DAYS in order for them to fix it. Christ knows what they are doing for that time, something to do with the reciever inside the car???
we shall see what happens.
Apparently I am getting an I-shift Civic as a courtesy car????

Alarm / key entry problems!

Hi, just joined civicinfo this afternoon, welcome! With regards to this nagging issue for alarming / de alarming / entry into the Civic, I hope to find an answer in the next few days! I have a 3 month old Type R GT, today I booked the car into Honda's, they have never experienced a problem like it, so they say!

I first noticed the clock not keeping time, having to constantly reset it, secondly, the alarm would not deactivate from the key, tryed the second key, no good. Manually unlocked the door, started the car but had all lights flashing (painful), after trial and error i opened both doors, boot, bonnet then closed them , hoping something would reset....nothing...then..i reset the petrol filler cap...eurika...alarm went off...system was reset...happy days!

Two days later...got into the car no radio/air con display!! grrrr! but alarm system ok!
Week later alarm problem again! Grrrrrrrrr! Tried to renact as above , no good...but I closed and opened the boot...alarm went off and rest itself back to normal!

Had enough...into Honda's.....driving around in Nissan NOTE!!!! ;-(Watch this space!
Albie!

This not unlocking issue has happened to me quite a few times. The key in the door always sorts it. Not too much of an issue unless I was robbing a bank and needed a quick get away

[quote=fletch88;146702]I remember seeing Jeremy Clarkson on Top Gear one night getting a Mercedes key fob to become more powerful by holding it against his head while pressing the button.

Pity it was`t a bloody shotgun
