Answers on a postcard...
Just a theory.... (see earlier Mondeo comment where only the TDCis had auto heated screens). Diesels take longer to deliver warm air to the screen from cold (being so efficient and all that) so might be thought to need alternative demisting ? Also they (supposedly) have higher rated batteries and so can take the current drain.... Like I said, just a theory.

First part of that does make a bit of sense.

Unless it is broken - no wait it is a Honda...

Could it be a "recall" to deactivate this?

Auto Defrost

Strange that, mine only started doing it after it went in for service. I wonder if they changed some software. I'm not really bothered but I would value a consistent auto "off" after say 10 mins.

2.2 without auto = 4
the 3 who said 'no' own:
'07 Type S - 2 other owners of exactly the same model said 'yes'
2 x '07 EX - 2 other owners of exactly the same model said 'yes'
'06 Sport - 2 other owners of exactly the same model said 'yes'

amongst the 22 2.2 'yes' answers, there was a good range of model types, though mainly 5 door so far[/quote]

The orange light on the dashboard switch does not illuminate when this happens.
So how do you know it's working? Do you have to wait for a frosty day and wait to see what happens?

If the rear screen is frozen when i get in i press the button straight away.

I'm going to withdraw my vote.

Please removed me from the stats. July 07 2.2 Type S GT

Update:

1.8 replies = 13
1.8 with auto = 0
1.8 without auto = 13 (100%)

2.0 (Type R) replies = 3
2.0 with auto = 0
2.0 without auto = 3 (100%)

2.2 replies = 28
2.2 with auto = 25 (89%)
2.2 without auto = 3

The 3 diesels without could be due to:
a) Broken
b) Owner hasnīt noticed the function

Even with the small sample size it is starting to look like we have figured this one out..
