HFT Bluetooth problem

I'm after some advice. I have a Sony Ericson W910i with the Honda HFT system. I can recieve calls OK I can make calls via the voice activation but when I select a stored number on the hand set it dials through the handset only. Is there a fix for this or is the phone just not compatible with the car?
Does anyone know of a mobile phone that is TOTALLY compatible with my car? I own a 57 Civic Type S CTDI 3 door.

My Sony K800i works fine with my Honda HFT system, it's just the fact that I can't speak French! and that seems the only language it understands at the moment!!! and not Yorkshire!

Honda should supply a phrase book

I have just found out from my dealer that Honda have deliberately designed the HFT not to dial out on bluetooth when a number is selected. Also you cannot bluetooth your phonebook to the HFT and you cannot view it on any display. You will have to enter every number manually with a voice tag attached to it. - This sucks. Anyone got any suggestions?

Dial the number before you get in the car, then say 'redial'.

there is no way to transfer your phone phonebook to the Civ, other than by manually reading them out one by one

which isn't great

And yes, if you dial from your phone then some phones auto transfer the call to the HFT (think my D900 does), but most don't.

'redial' is indeed the way to go and Tom says, or similar to mrh, you can press the steering wheel HFT button and say 'transfer'

Although obviously you don't want to be fiddling with your phone whilst driving...

I haven't try it yet but if you press talk button and say "tranfer" then the call from the phone will be transfered to HFT and vice a versa

For anyone who want's to make a call from the phone, just make the call from the phone and after 4-5 seconds (not immedately after making the call) push the talk button and say "transfer" and the call will be tranferred to HFT.

Try doing a soft reset (remove the battery and replace-(20 seconds).
Try pairing another phone to see if you can duplicate the problem, probably not though, you may need to update the firmware on your phone.
