Wouldn't do for me - too much hassle.

I've used vent mounts for a number of years with no problems.

Power socket on top of dash with secondary socket linked to car aerial for the TMC-RDS that comes with a lot of them now.
Kremmen - someone is listening to you.

The new Seat Ibiza has an optional dash top docking station for a TomTom satnav.

Quote from the Auto Express road test.

'And the improvements don’t stop there. The optional dash-top docking station for portable sat-navs is a great idea, while other extras include parking sensors, xenon lamps, power-folding door mirrors, heated front seats and Bluetooth phone connectivity'.

Seat have done Tomtom adapters for a while, when I looked at an Altea, there was an adaptor available to take a Tomtom x10 as there is for the Aygo/107/C1.

I would not take my Civic anywhere that dodgy (that is what the wife's car is for).

Seriously, when needed, I remove the dock and push the wires into the corner, the wires are then hidden by the unswept area left by the wipers. Oops I am exposing my poor car cleaning again.

There is no other way you can mount a Tomtom x10 apart from on the screen, even Brodit do not do a adapter to fit. With the weight and bulk of the unit, air vent mounts would be no use.

Any suggestions for getting the wife to listen

Not wanting to be a real geek but the Toyota Yaris has had a Head Unit that takes an slightly modified TomTom for quite some time... It's a very neat looking solution as it literally slots into the headunit, plus you can still use it in another car and remove it when needed.
