Im going to attempt a retro fit sat nav

title says it, I managed to get my hands on the complete sat nav hft/steering wheel/blutooth module, wiring loom, dvd unit and bass works amplifier set up from a damaged type r gt and I am going to attempt to retrofit it.

I have a few questions though

Has anyone done or attempted to do this?

My car is non gt, I can remember reading there is a slight difference in the dashboard, can anyone confirm where this is as the dealer wasnt too sure and ive only seen pics of the unit, it would appear the part of the dash on top of the headunit (if you know what i mean) is slightly deeper on the gt with the upgrade.

Also where does the bass works amplifier go? can i use my standard speakers and maybe get slightly better sound with the amp?

I am assuming alot of the loom wil already be there and just a case of plug and play (fingers crossed) as i imagine it would be more expensive to make all seperate loom for the three variants of the car (abit like the fog light retro fit)

Any tips/advice would be welcome, I know this might not be easy but I got the unit cheap in comparison to what it was new, I never wanted the gt model as have no interest in the air con etc, i instead spent the extra hard earned cash on the milltek, hondata and pipercross combination!

had a lift last week in one of holdcroft's ctr gt with satnav and the dash drops away towards the screen which is definately deeper than standard display.

The Type S SN dash is very different to the non sat-nav one, if you want I can do a piccy of the interior with SN if you want.

From looking at few more pics it seems the top of the radio/unit on the sat nav models curves more at the top leading the piece on top of that to touch the lower part of the display screen thus allowing the bigger screen, its quite deceptive, you would almost think its an entirely different dash (dont know if any of that makes sense as it doesnt read too well)
