Parrot HFT and DICE Ipod player
Hi Guys, I am looking for a bit of advice.
I plan to install a Parrot hands free kit and an Dice for the Ipod, having read all of the posts in the various threads I have the following questions that I would appreciate some feedback on. 1) Can I install both kits or do they need the same connector on the back of the radio ? 2) If question 1 is yes then do I need a "Y" splitter ? 3) With the standard parrot kit will it allow you to use the steering wheel controls or do you need an extra bit ? if so what ? Having read all of the "how to's" I feel sort of ok about going for the installs myself, nothing ventured nothing gained as they say ! Plan to put the Ipod connector in the cubby hole above the gearstick and I think the parrot where the cigarette lighter is, over the heated seat switches that I dont have ! Relocate the cig lighter into the centre consule for charging phone etc... The planning stage is almost complete Steve |

1) yes they use the same connector in the back of HU
2) yes you need to use an "Y" splitter 3) yes you need an extra bit, go to www.parrot.com and you the part No. for your car/HFT set. Make yourself ! It's not "too hard" ( belive me, i do it! ) Most important is to test everything you put in the car before "close" the dashboard, belive me, i don't do it |

Sorry Hight.Pressure, yesterday i give you some wrong info...
Here is the right ones... 1)They use 2 different "ports" ( one for connect the HU to car, the other is to connect additional souces) 2)An Y splitter is not absolutely necessary, but i strongly reccomend to you to connect your HFT to HU. If you 're experienced you must cut/ soldering/ jump-wiring some cables from HFT to car's main wiring harness... Consider that an Y splitter lets you fit an HFT in a breeze, and in a "cleaner" way. Many after-market brands produce an Y splitter specifically designed for your Civic. 3) this answer is ok! Sorry for the mistake! |
