Electrics Help with putting ambient lighting in doors

Hi all,

I have been in cars before that have a small ambient light that shows where the door handle is in the interior and thought I would give this a go with a small blue LED to match the dash. I just want the lights to be on when the key is at ignition point one or two, doesnt matter if headlights are on or anything.

Now, I can see cables and connections for the interior of the door and know/hope there is a 12V + and - connection in there somewhere but as I know little to nothing about this I was hoping someone could help out.

Here are some pics if this helps anyone to know what I am talking about.

I just want to "piggy back" the power or run it in parallel if that makes sense rather than having to get it from the dash.

What about the feed that powers the already-install LED in the switch panel?

Is there anyway of finding out where to get this apart from taking the door card apart? I may just leave it if it is going to mean taking more and more apart, will not be noticeable until the shorted evenings anyway!
