Can you manually fold wing mirrors ?

Hi!

Sorry if this has already been answered ...

Some little **** knocked off my wing mirror last week, ive had it repaired (£168) and was thinking as to whether the mirrors can be manually folded ?? I tried, but with no luck (I'm being a bit cautious to make sure I don't pull the newly repaired mirror off!!).

I see that electronic mirrors are an option for the higher spec civics.

Mines a Honda Civic SE 2006 plated.

Cheers!

Yes, you fold them in an upwards motion.

You should be able to fold them manually but in an upwards motion rather than towards the window, if you see what I mean. They maybe a little stiff at first but they should move.

Welcome aboard by the way

Maybe spray some WD40 onto the join, to loosen it a bit.

They are very stiff, I always think I'm going to break them too!

I have the electric ones but I know that the manual ones move as I asked when talking to my dealer when looking at the civic last year before I got mine!

Put one hand underneath the mirror and the other hand round the casing and pull upwards and a slight twist with your hand underneath. You'll be fine.

Right, get out there, and try. Then report back, Pronto!!

Possibly but it would be very expensive.

Haven't seen anything myself on here but it must surely be possible to do.
