You would have thought that these day's a phone holder would be a standard fitting in all cars. It would encourage people not to hold them whilst driving. Especially if the car is fitted with the HFT. It's hardly an expensive item to factory fit.

You can also look for Kuda on the web, they seem to have nice solutions too. here is the link http://www.kuda-phonebase.de/.

I'm tempted to get this one as I think it'll be much better to glance at for my gps, but on the other hand I think it might be a bit too obvious.
I really like this type rather than the other lower down version. I have just checked my car and because it's a Type R the bucket seats will get in the way when sliding the seat forward. I think i'll buy the one shown.

Has anyone else had a problem with the lower bracket??

I've got both fitted as I have 2 devices I want to have handy.

The lower one is a sturdy fit and certainly doesn't obstruct the normal style of seat.

The one shown here is not so rigid a fit though. On the EX at least, you need to cut a small section out of the top right corner, oherwise you will need to slightly force it over to the right at the bottom to get it to clip into the gap between the console and the gear lever silver cover.
If you don't cut out the small section then the top bit is quite clearly out of alignment when you push it over at the bottom. There seems to be some sort of plastic fin that only allows the top clip to slide across part way. The cutout only needs to be about ½cm wide by about 3mm deep. But it's surprising what a difference it makes.

You then have 2 choices, do you utilise the sticky pads for a more sturdy fit or just rely on friction.

If you decide to use the pads then there is no way you or your dealer are going to remove the silver gear stick surround, should you ever need to, without damaging it as the proclip is now firmly stuck across the left hand side preventing upward movement of the silver surround, which is how it comes out.

If you don't use the pads then the bottom part does have some movement but is OK.

Yeah, Honda should be able to do it for a couple of hundred pounds!

Got my bracket and phone clip today from DSL. I ordered both types but opted and fitted the one shown above. The lower down one hits the side of the passenger side bucket seat so it's no good for Type R's.
I'll send it back for a refund

Can't believe how easy it was to fit, i did it in about 10 mins.

Very impressed how it looks and is a perfect fit for my Nokia N95. When i can work out how to post a photo of my own i'll stick it in this thread for you all to see.

I was close to drilling the dash to fit my nokia holder, glad i didn't now

daveg - when posting a reply, before you hit 'submit', scroll down a bit until you see the 'manage attachments' button.

click that, and a window will pop up, allowing you to browse your PC for the pic you want to attach

I prefer the Krussel magnetic mounts - the small disc between the Vol and Auto button:

No it doesn't.
It looks like that on the photo but the angled section comes away from the side trim just enough to allow the trap door to open without touching it. Clever design

I used to have one of the magnets years ago for my nokia 3310, but now i have a N95 it won't work with this type of phone. It plays havak with the electronics.

As promised, here are my photo's of the DSL Developments Phone holder and clip for my Nokia N95.

The 1st photo shows the angled section of the holder that allows the trap door to open.

The 3rd photo shows the gear stick in 1st gear and there is enough room to change gear without catching the bracket.

Hope this helps anyone wanting to buy one.
