Alan, definately, I was considering a mod to beef it up somewhat. I was recently in Kenya and quite a few of the local minibus things flying around have airhorns on them, I did find a place selling them and was thinking about buying one, would be fantastic. Does anyone know if there are laws governing horn loudness in the UK, if not might pick one up at Xmas when I am out there.
Or does anyone know if the horn is accesible on the Civic and if it can be replaced. I might go and have a look under the bonnet later...........got me thinking now. |

yeah, the horn on my 1.6 ivtec sport was loads better. Saying that, as you all know, the horn is not a device to express our anger, it is only there to warn others' of our presence. So there.
But it does offer some relief of anger from time to time... |

I have bought one of those Stebel air horns, but havn't got round to fitting it yet . Had a quick look to see how easy the job was going to be, It looks as if you have to remove the engine under tray to get at the original horns ( yes I was suprised, there are two) . Does any one know if there is a horn relay fitted as standard ? This would simplify the fitting job if there is.

I'd love to see a How To on this when you're finished mike222.
Where did you get the Stebel air horn? Were you able to test a whole bunch of them before you picked the one you have (like doorbells |

I'm sure the one on E-Bay, it said that you only need the relay if you adding the Horn to the exciting one, not if you replacing. I’ll have a look around and see if I can fine the instruction again.
Would be cool if you could take some pic’s as you doing it, as Raegten said “How too” you could call it “How to get Horn” PS. a wav file would be cool to, so we can hear what it’s like |
