Satnav demo

For those who haven't seen it yet, here are some screens from the Alpine/Navteq satnav in the EX:

Press menu to enter a destination:

Here I'll enter a postcode:

So highlight postcode:

Dial it in:

Here it says "Set as Destination" using "Fast Route", but I'll ask for 5 possible routes...

Here are the possible routes:

And the route on the screen:

This is the en-route menu:

And here's the step by step screen (notice the inclusion of a service station):

Here's the traffic event list (none on our route, so the icon is grey not red):

And here is a traffic event:

More to come later!

Just looking through this while waiting for my EX tomorrow (at last!). Is it normal for the Easy Route to be shorter and faster than the fast route AND the short route? Looking forward to seeing what other idiocies it can come up with. :P .

I don't have the Satnav; but it does look good.

And although I don't live there; I'm FROM Kilburn! I guess it was an accident on the A38?

Yes, the fast/easy/shortest route logic is often quite wrong - the calc 5 routes is still great though, you can cycle through the routes (and they highlight on the map) to chose the best one.
