I've read the thread through a couple of times and I'm still a little confused on what LED strip to buy? Length, colour, type? Can anyone provide some links please?
Also I don't understand what some of you mean by before/after resistor (I'm a bit simple when it comes to these things lol!) I realy want to do this though as it looks so much better. |

You will need one with at least 10,000 mcd you want to drop the 12v down to 3.3 before the LED. |

I guess the best way to go is with 12k MCD and RED!
I put 60pc of 5mm ones, but they are warm-white. The issue with them is now that the color did not match 100% with the side ones, so I've ordered now 220PCS of red LEDs! I will replace mine soon! |

I've made this modification years ago but it was made with warm white LEDs. Now I've changed to red ones. I told the guys I am coming back to them with the result!
I already told them the led strips can be forget, because cannot be see lighting, only nights a bit....BUT this!!! |

Just a quick thanks to Snowbound for this great "how to"
I thought I would have ago at it myself. After I removed the 3rd Brake Light and split it open I thought I would have ago at doing something to fit the LED Strip too. I cut a thin bit of plastic out of a piece that I had lying around and then just got the Dremmel out and made it fit a bit better. Glued it in place then fitted the LED Strip to that as it gave it something to stick too and I could get it to sit nice and level too. ![]() ![]() ![]()

That looks like a long exposure time or were the middle ones also brake lights in the early years?

If you are, then are you on about the lights that are built in the boot next to the brake/indicator lights? If so then I thought they were standard like that? Stu |

Which LED strip did you get, i know you should have LEDs over 12,000Mcd for it to be seen in daylight.
