Mobile Upgrade

I currently have an awful Motorola V3i which is about due to be upgraded, the 2 phones I'm looking at are the Samsung U600 and the Nokia N95.

I've looked on the honda handsfree site and neither of these are shown as working with the HFT, does anyone have either of these 2 phones and do they work with the EX HFT? This will be a deciding factor with which to choose!

I had a samsung D600 a while back. Kept it for all of 1 week as I found sending a text message a right pain!!

Doesn't answer your questions, but just wondered if you've had a play with either of these phones, as its worthwhile doing so

I have an N95. Bought it just a couple of weeks ago.
It paired with the HFT easily first time.
The second day I had it, it didn't connect properly; so didn't realise until I tried to make a call, so I rebooted it, and it's been OK since, (except that it didn't want to redial one day last week).
I'm very pleased with it generally, but I can't get it to connect to WLANs. I think that maybe me being thick, but apparently there are software issues with the 'phone as well.
I'm still on a steep learning curve for everything it can do, and the manual isn't much help, but I have managed to crash it a couple of times, but, as I said, I'm happy with it.
The only other thing to watch out for, is if you are making it work hard, it will go through the battery very quickly; if you've got it on charge, the charger can't keep up at times.
Hope that helps a bit.

I think they have just released a firmware upgrade for the N95 to solve "some" of it's problems.

I don't know if this helps, but you may well find that the V3i works. It is very similar to my Motorola SLVR - see my Wiki entry about it.

Wheeeeeeeeeeeee! I've just been upgraded to a Wheelnut

hooray for you

I'm thinkin of getting a n95. Surely its just a case of having it setup with the HFT correctly?

I HATE the V3i with a passion it's the worst phone I've ever owned and I've had a fair few! It turns itself off, drops signal and is generally a rubbish phone with rubbish features so as soon as I can get my upgrade I will! It says it will work on the honda site, but I dont have the car yet due to Honda Bristol being *****!

Looks like it might be the Nokia but it's a bit big for my liking and I already have a pocket PC ... I've not used the Samsung but like the styling of it, maybe a trip to a phone shop is in order now!

EDIT : since typing this I have tempted fate and sat on my V3i and the front screen shattered and now I cant use it cos the inside screen is blank LOL! I had something else in my back pocket and it crushed the screen when I sat down, either I need to stop carrying my phone in my back pocket or I should lose some weight!

I would always go for Nokia's, had other makes like SonyErricson, Motorola etc... found they were all very poor compared to a Nokia. I would go for the N95 over the Samsung.

I'd go for the N95! I have an N73 and it works perfectly with the HFT. If were not tied in a contract, I would upgrade to the N95.
