Hmmm. If they remove all the phones that are having problems from the list, then there isn't a problem, so they won't need to fix it.

Cynical or what!!

Handsfree

Hi everyone, have just discovered this forum.

I have been fighting my own battle over the Carkit audio issues you relate to. I have given up on my dealer chasing this for me an dhave contacted Honda directly. (Andy or Joe on 01753 590500...)
Honda know about the issue and are investigating but everyone needs to moan like hell in order to get them to prioritise this issue. You do not have to put up with it or stop using this kit which you have paid hard cash for.
Contact your dealer or phone Honda customer care on 01753 590500 and make them aware of the number of people affected. Its good to talk…..

Hey rey1234, I think thats just what people started to do, I have had contact with them on a few occasions and they have at least managed to convince me that this is something that they are taking seriously and that will be fixed, doesn't help any of us in the short term or for the hassle and lack of use that this problem has caused. If you look at the "how to" section there are a couple of fixes in there, although I am waiting to get a Honda fix, I am confident it will be sorted before I sell the car, or give it back (3 1/2 yrs to go).

Maldax,

Network does not affect Bluetooth but can affect the Audio levels transmitted and the quality , frequency response of the audio. You can also get different base sites causing volume level changes. I think this is an audio problem in the mic circuitry or a software issue. Honda will be establishing whether everybody is in one area or on one network in order to establish if it is the car.

Regards

And wasting yet more time. They could easily establish this themselves, unless a large number of us are wrong.

BTW Is there anyone whose EX system (unmodified) HTF is working acceptably anywhere. I haven't of anyone yet.

I'm too young to remember him, but I just finished reading his biography by Gerald Donaldson. What an amazing chap he was, some of the antics and things he got up to. Making replacement suspension parts from truck bumpers at the side of the road, mid-race, fashioning all sorts of stuff. I would be surprised if modern racers could change their own tyre.

Apparantly he had a resting heart rate of 40-odd, and it never peaked much above 70-80 during races.

I think Stirling Moss was an uncrowned king of the sport too. Did you see on t.v the film of him and Denis Jenkinson drive the Miglia--Miglia race in a Mercedes sports car, at an average speed in the 80/90mph (can't remember the exact speed) quite amazing drive.

Hi guys

Just to bring you my small contribution from France.

Got an executive navi since mid June 06 and HFT does not work properly (strange isn't it ?) my case is even worse since the SIM card is a swiss one, I'm living France and crossing twice a day, France, Germany and Switzerland to either go work or go home

I complain many time to my seller who hardly tried to find out. , but without real success

Last week I called Honda, seller was already on vacation and I was told that as per my claim, they had to order a piece (don't ask me which one) to fix the HFT
Next Monday the seller should be back from vacation, will give him a call and get some explanations on this device/piece they would like to change.
And really hope that in the meantime he will as well be able to tell what damned I should do to get an international call out from this ****** HFT

To the people who have applied the Mod, or looked at the MIC.

Can the MIC be removed form the wiring? My own theory is that the MIC is poor quality.

It would be useful if another MIC could be 'wired in', say from a good quality car kit.

As mentioned on other threads, I have fitted a Parrot Bluetooth kit to my current Golf. It is superb at ANY speed, and cost £99 - c'mon Honda, you can borrow mine if you want to see how good a system should be.

Good question Karlak, I have wondered if the fix is just as simple as buying a mic from a reputable HFT (not Honda) and fitting it to the outside of the centre plastic thing, but that does defeat the object of the discrete mounting it was designd to have, but then again, funtion/form has to be decided, better to have it working than looking nice, although if that was the case I would have saved a few quid and got a Nokia Bluetooth system installed.

I've just had a call from Honda Customer Services. Apparently there is now a fix for the problem, which is being rolled out to dealers over the next week or so. They apparently need to write the documentation for the dealers to use. So, the suggestion is that I phone the dealer late next week to get it implemented.

So, if correct it's just the absent spare wheel remaining. Plus of course the SatNav POIs

What's the betting that the fix is a piece of 5mm double sided sticky foam.

The foam being taken out of the customers fuel cap fix, applied using TRK gel, and a massive booster amp to be fitted in the spare wheel hole.

Could it really be that simple?

Would they need the SatNav to find the spare wheel hole. In which case is the said hole defined as a POI. If so then they'll probably start looking in Belgium.

This car is making me seriously cynical.
