Yeah I was a little surprised as the reason for the delay in getting it in was the testing they were doing on a couple of techies Civics. As I said before though I am pretty certain the biggest delay is purely transport related.

And anyway (whatever others may say) I am genuinely pleased that Honda have offered to do this for me, it seems unprecedented to date as far as I have ever experienced for what is in effect a non mechanical problem. It has taken its time, but I wish it to be known that I am pleased, I just want it back, I miss my little car.

Its only the second time we have been apart, the first time was when the dealer had a go at the HFT amongst other things. So in response to some quarters who suggested you don't ring Panasonic when your DVD player goes up the spout, the dealer I got it from have had their go, and they said nothing was wrong, and to be fair to them, functionally it works, but not very well. I believe I have gone about things the right way, and even the Lease Company I got the car from are happy with the way things are being done, they don't want to get involved almost, unless I hit a brick wall.

Er... Foam; Sticky tape; Move mic to right side + drill holes (possibly + foam + sticky tape)

Someone on this forum is going to get commission for designing the fix.

BG, Pottsy, is it possible to get a flying pig emoticon? I've missed one ever since I started posting about Honda here.

Exact scope of fix to follow shortly, lets build an air of anticipation, and I need some more Muffins & Marmite.

Well, lets put you out of your misery.

A big round of applause to WonkySights who correctly predicted the fix. http://www.civinfo.com/forum/modify-...nce-vt849.html

Yes thats right they have eliminated the airgap between the microphone and the grille cover by lowering the microphone
assembly slightly. It sounds better in their words.

I guess a thank you to Honda is also due, its taken its time in coming and perhaps some of the ideas may have been around in one form or another prior to the fix, but at least we have success now.

Role on the 18th, get the dampers done and the bumper and I will gladly shout from the roof tops I have a fantastic car, its not just going to be great anymore.

Thanks to everyone on here, I am sure together we are stronger!

Kind of, within 5 minutes of me deciding I go the email from Honda. I wanted to have Honda do whatever they felt necessary to get the HFT correctly working, didn't feel that my Heath Robinson affair was really up to much.

I will see if I can get anymore out of them. What would be nice though if someone from Honda could perhaps post on here, we know they are out there and watching.

Could someone from Honda please contact myself to discuss commission........

Come to think of it, I'll settle for a set of Storm Alloys.

Good idea*, and yes indeed - in that order

* with NO reflection on your Heath Robinson abilities intended!

Damn someone should have called the patent office.....now that would be funny present them with a bill for fixing your car....

Maybe my sense of humour needs adjusting....

With the collective nouse (sp?) in this forum and I would imagine the need for a inexpensive fix it was always likely to be similar to one of the many options herein. My money was actually on a completely different microphone stuck on the outside of the central plastic thing, but that would have ruined the look.

Only further information I have found out is that no more vehicles will be returned to Honda for the fix, a bulletin will be circulated to dealers advising of what is involved. Nothing re the production line vehicles, I can't imagine they will leave them as they are.

I guess that's 2 wheels each then as I was the first person to come up with the idea to close the gap between mike and cover eliminating background noise from the roof space.

I did this on 31st July before you did your super quick mod on 21st August :P

Ps. Come on guys, there's a set of Storm Alloys on the line here!!
