HFT - two handsets

When I collected my car the dealer paired my personal k750i with teh HFT and it has worked OK except that sometimes there is a heavy buzz on teh receiver end.

Today i tried to pair my work Nokia 6230 and the pairing worked OK, but the car will only recognise one phone i.e. the first one paired. if you leave both with BT switched on then as soon as one is switched off the system recognises the other and connects to it.

In absence of my manual, does anyone know if this is normal, or, have any advice.

Also, recipents say no buzz with the nokia.

I use a K750i with mine and its been perfect so far, no buzzing at all. The manual does say you can have multiple phones paired at the same time, but it doesn't seem to say anywhere how you choose which one is used.

EDIT I was just about to say I've just found out how to do it, but it looks like Daren beat me to it below!

This is normal. The system does pair with more than one phone, but will only be connected to one at a time. To change to the next phone you need to use the voice command "NEXT PHONE".

Mine seems to remember the last phone connected and connect that first if more than one phone is present - eg. My wife and I are in the car and the system is connected to my phone... we leave the car and return together and it will connect to mine first. We go away again and she come back to drive on her own - it connects to hers. Later I return with her and it will connect to hers first. (I then use the NEXT PHONE command to connect my phone)

Does this make sense?

I know what I mean (I hope I explained it)

thanks for the info.

I have asked for the dealer to put a manual aside for me so hopefully no more daft questions after the weekend.

Buzzing on BT

Hi,
People say this to me ocassionly however this is only when the phone is in the pocket next to the gear lever. If i move this for here the buzz goes away (place phone in door handle)

This might work for you!

@ Daren - yes, exactly what it seems to do, and yes, your post does make sense

@ poejay - yes also, my Nokia buzzes and crackles a bit when in the cubby by the gearstick, but fine if in my pocket or door handle cubby
strangely, my Samsung D900 is fine next to the gearstick

@ Tim - no such thing as a daft question in this place!
