Central locking issue - stuck microswitch info please

Hi All. Last few months the central locking has started to have an intermittent fault. Sometimes the drivers door and boot do not unlock via the remote. Passenger doors work fine everytime. I have an 06 1.4 SE I shift.

Been doing some digging around on the forum and the net. Seem to have pinned this issue down to a fault with a "stuck / sticking microswitch in the drivers door. Seems to be known to Honda. ???

Here come the questions before I contact a dealer re a fix. Can anyone supply any answers.

1. How much for the switch. ( Any use buying 2nd hand )

2. Anyone show me a picture of said switch.

3. Possible charge via dealer. ( I know I can phone up for Q's 1 and 3 )

4. Is a DIY job. Is it just a case of swopping switches - plug and play ?? Happy to give it go but dont want loose door card etc afterwards. Ha Ha

5. Could the winter weather be part of the issue.

I've already checked fuses to try and rule out other causes.

Any replies much appreciated. Will be contacting dealer soon.

John

Hello mate, I'm afraid, I have the same problem, just I couldn't identify it correctly. Here's my topic: Boot lid? Central locking?

Still, I am driving with that problem till today...

I've had this on a Jazz loan car with the petrol cap not releasing.

Operating the central locking a few times without trying to open the lid did the trick. (Dealer told me what to do). Other way if frozen is hot water then the same, lock, unlock several times then try it again.

The only microswitch in the door I can think of is the one that tells the car whether it's open or closed.

If that was at fault though it would stop the car from locking, not unlocking.
