Sat Nav and Trip Computer Questions
Can't find the answers I need in search or the manuals
1) Sat Nav at Night - No matter what combination of background, map, contrast, black and brightness settings I've tried the map and menus seem way too dull to me. Have I missed an important setting somewhere ? What combination of settings do you use for optimum night brightness ? 2) I've seen a thread on here somewhere (but blowed if I can find it again) that suggests other ways to optimise colour schemes beyond the standard configurations available. If it's any help I seem to remember that these settings can't be stored and have to be selected each time you start (could be wrong) 3) Is there any way of re-setting average speed on either Trip A or B without resetting all the other functions ? Thanks all Last edited by For Mash Get Smash; 26th July 2007 at 17:41. Reason: spelling :-) |

I've got mine on default (from memory), and if I find that I need to actually glance at the map I just turn the dash light knob up full do that the day time settings kick in Quote:
There is a way of hacking it to get extra colour combos - but it doesn't store them Quote:

To be honest, I got all excited about it at the time, but as soon as I got to the bit where Pottsy discovered the new colour scheme got ignored as soon as you finished playing with it, I kinda lost heart |

I've spent lots of time trying to get a dimmed display that I can read at night to no avail
It's the daytime colour scheme for me 24x7 and I use the manual brightness control to dim it slightly. How are we supposed to see black minor roads on their suggested black background beats me. Even using the cream display with the night time settings I cannot determine the side roads |

I think the colour settings are somewhere in the diagnostics menu:

Thanks for that - I'll have to have a play around until I find it (or completely destroy other settings
I've searched again for the thread I was referring to - it's so annoying and not even in history as I only store 3 days |

Smashy,
Don't do what I did, spent ages adjusting it to get a picture I was really pleased with, only to find the settings disappear when you switch off. |

Part of the Manual for the computer thingy, gives the basic settings for it and goes on to read -- the display can also be set to show your individual preferences in some cases.
Been playing around with it and now get the general jist of it. I am pretty sure that I have seen on some Civics, the total mileage of vehicle hidden ?? and just showing the trip mileage. Does it matter you may well ask. Well no, but I would like to know, as I am so pretty sure that I have seen such a setting on others. |
