Satnav brand and other questions...
Hello
This is a possible Civic buyer from Finland. I am thinking maybe of buying the Sport or the Executive model. I just wonder if anyone knows what brand the satnav is? I have read that that could be an Alpine? I am just looking if there is any possibility to add POI or upgrade the maps etc. If there is problems upgrading the satnav without buying the expensive dvd-rom every year, I might get the Sport version and buy a standalone satnav, propably the Mio C510E model. If the satnav is Alpine, do you think this usb-adapter would work with it? http://www.alpine-europe.com/content...0M%94-copy.htm Maybe it would be better than aux-in adapter? Finally, is it worth the extra 4700 euros (here in Finland) to buy the Executive instead of the Sport version? Greetings IronSoil |

I'd rather buy a larger car. ie. Accord than a 1.8 civic Executive.. too expensive. it's 30k e .. You can get an 2l Accord with that..

It is made for Honda - by Alpine. You can't add POI, but the maps can be upgraded by buying the annual Honda disc (at vast expense). I doubt that the adapter will fit though, the connections tend to be all proprietry.

Tervetuloa!
Seeing as the only differences are SatNav, HID lights and the glass roof I would go for a sport. At least I can't remember anything else. Sport models should also be delivered a bit sooner than if you ordered an Executive one. Then again, if you can afford to spend that much more and are willing to wait then go for it! |

When are the upgrades usually made available, is it typical based on calendar years, or is it a bit more random?

Kiitos
Tomorrow I will test drive the Civic. I think if I will get the Civic, then I will get the Sport version and buy a standalone satnav. 4500 euros is alot of money. I propably will also upgrade the speakers with the ones mentioned on this forum (Infinity Reference 6510CS) and maybe install a sub, Alpine SWD-1600 or maybe Basslink or similar. I have a Volvo V50 now and have been using a wired FM Modulator with it, because of the lack of mp3-support. I have a Kenwood KCA-20FM, http://www.crutchfield.com/S-KpKTggy...o&i=613KCA20FM Is it possible to use it in the Civic or is it better to buy the CTVHOX001 aux in adapter instead? What delivery times is there for a Sport model Copycat? |

You'd be hard pressed to find a dealer that can get you one this year. Probably if you order today you'll get the car in January or later.
Call some dealers and ask them. If you live in the Helsinki area, I can whole-heartedly recommend Veho Koivuhaka. Phone number 010 569 742. Ask for Taina at their Honda sales team. |

I live near Jyväskylä and will go to Rinta-Jouppi tomorrow for a test drive.
I have seen a couple of cars been sold by dealers from their test drive cars (esittelyauto). If the Civic is good, I will call the dealers if I can buy one of them. But there is not that long way to Helsinki and I can buy from there also if I can get a good deal for my Volvo... |
