Calling all dash experts. Extra cable?

Hi I have removed my steering wheel, digital dash clocks for carbon wrapping.

I have a un accounable cable which I cannot see where it goes, It seems to short to go to the steering wheel and definatly not for the clocks.

It has 2 wires, 1 black and the other is like a clear tube/flexi pipe appre 10-15mm wide which isnt connected the other end

Doesnt look like it can really connect to much, can see a green board and what looks like a light attatched.

I cannot take a pic at the mo. I was wondering if its a sensor maybe?? or have I missed summit??

Sounds to me it's the cabin temp sensor. Once the dash is back on and you're left with the "U" shaped plastic that sits above the steering wheel, it should connect on the left before you clip it into place.

Umm, that's not supposed to look like that.
The clip and the hose circles in my attached image are supposed to disconnect... looks to me like it's snapped off the back of the plastic "U" piece I mentioned above.

I just went out and had a closer look at mine. It might be possible to reattach if it's just come unclipped at the wrong bit.

It attaches to the back of this plastic trim piece

Closeup here of it connected

And here's the attachment on the back of the piece (with the white connector removed so I could get it out)

Edit: Please excuse the dash being so dirty... the interior is in need of a good clean!

Will it be ok left tucked in dash as it is if it's still connected?

It's supposed to line up with the small "grill" as it should suck in cabin air to detect the temperature. If you tuck it into the dash your "Auto" a/c setting might not work quite as well but it'll be fine apart from that.

Looks like it is screwed in? I definatly didnt take this out.

Which is why I was stumped when putting it all back, would of been tucked in before.
Will go out now and put it right.

Thanks pal,

Mine isn't connected to anything either. I didn't think the other end connects to anything - I certainly couldn't see anything logical for it to connect to under the dash...

It's not normal, it does connect at the other end... to the heater unit.

I know is not very clear, but it's the yellow pipe in this pic...
