Aftermarket Switches

Hi folks,

Been letting my wee mind run around with ideas for internal electrics. Plan to start off with some lighting, and wanting a switch override.

Been looking around the net and found PLENTY of switches to choose from. Its hard to imagine them on the car though, and don't want them to look too out of place.

Locations:
The only sensible locations I can come up with is the 2 blanks where the heated seat switches are...next to the lighter socket.

I was thinking that maybe getting a hold of a pair of the heated switches and somehow getting the labelling off might be the best bet. However knowing Honda those switches will cost a bit

I'm def needing some inspiration and advice on switches that would suit the car. Any pics from members who have switches here(or anywhere else) would be much appreciated as well.

I was thinking of this but the issue is the heater switches are 3 way.

Lo-OFF-Hi and not just On or OFF.

Hope he has a few hours to spare!

Excellent selection but as there are so many options it can be difficult to find what you are looking for.

Yeh I've seen every kind of switch tht man has ever made!

I just don't want to pick one, and then later find out it looks stupid on the car when I fit it.

If anyone can share any experiences/suggestions I would appreciate it.

Was thinking of doing something similar my self, but the car is still under warranty, and I'm not brave enough to void it yet. These are switches that I found best suited till now:

Black Metal push button LED Switch Momentary | eBay

LED Iluminated rocker switch CAR RED GREEN AMBER BLUE | eBay

Do you use the cubby under the stereo for anything? I would potentially fit a plate in there where you can mount your switches, and also means you can close the cubby and maintain the OEM look afterwards!

I like the rocker switches...they don't look to flashy. Im being a bit anal about it, buy my only concern I have is that the switches don't match the trim colour, or close to it. Might be worth buying a set to trial out. If not I'm sure I'll find a use for them elsehwere.

I sort of use it for sunglasses, but thats about it really. Im not one for hoarding in the car.

I love the idea mate! I'll def have a think about this as a possibility. Do you know anyone that has this already?

I don't unfortunately, but it certainly can't be too difficult to do.

Lol... they actually looked better in real life too

Was for my video box and TV, but anyone looking prob thought they were for the seat..

Switches are £2 ish in any Maplin store. I just removed the 4 screws holding the arm rest down, lifted it up slightly and drilled the 3 holes (15mm).... took approx 15 mins.

All you need is one of these Slim Rocker Switches : Rocker Switches : Maplin Electronics

plain black non illuminated.
I have one for the footwell lights and one for bogs V3 box.

They blend in well and don't look out of place

Im liking this one as well bozo...a one shot deal obv as theres only room for 1 switch but a very inventive use of the socket.
