Possible USB connector at the back of Navigation Unit?

Here's one for the more techinacly minded of you.....

The older Honda Sat Nav units have a PCMCIA slot on them so that log files and other service info can be downloaded onto them. (Like this.. VistaBug forums / Navi: Logging speed and fuel consumption and VistaBug forums / How To: Take Perfect Screen Shots on Your Navigation System)

The new Navigation units like the one in our Civic's and the Legend etc. don't have the PCMCIA slot, so have Honda done away with the ability to extract files onto a storage card completely (The ability to log and save screenshots is still in the developers menu), or is there a connector insde the Navi unit, or could this be a USB port (with a custom socket)?.......

Nav Socket.jpg

Anyone have any ideas what else this socket could be? I can't find any mention of it on the net or in wiring diagrams.

Could the 4 pins be configured to the USB standard, and if they are is it feasable to connect a USB card reader using the middle 2 pins (Data +/-)?

Pottsy, have any info on the socket?

If this is a connector to some kind of storage device, it is plausible that the interface is some kind of standard (with a custom connector though).

Questions are - how do we try it (without risking anything) and also can it be used for anything else than saving screenshots?

I might try a multimeter across the end 2 pins, if that produces 5v, that may be a big clue.

As for uses, there is not many I can think of. The fuel consumption may be of use and we might be able to store custom map colours (Developer Menu)
