Bluetooth phonebook issue

Another newbie to this forum, got my ex model yesterday. Have read the manual re bluetooth and have managed to pair my nokia 8600 phone however it was not the car that did it, it was paired using my phone. With all that setup I am going ask a possible half witted question

"Does the car not automatically pick up the names from my phone where I can scroll through them on my system or do I have to manually enter the 50 names and number I want to use?"

When I have been in other cars people just pair their phone and don't enter any names/numbers, it just picks it all up automatically.

Cheers

Welcome!

No, there is no phone book connectivity.

You have to enter phone book into car seperatly.
And the interface is voice only - no list to scroll through.

You can dial numbers manually from your phone - hang up - and then give the "redial" command.

That is how most of us do it.

It does suck a bit.

Yes, that went through my head too!

Tip:
Do a couple first and try it out.
I find the voice recog is worse for the phone than the rest of the car (seperate system I am guessing). So I usually takes me 2-4 tries for it to figure out who I want to call.

Also note : there is no coupling between the phone numer entry in the satnav favourites and the bluetooth phone system.

I just dial form my phone and then use the transfer command on the phone to get it to the hands free.

And yes it sucks the you cant use the phone book in the phone. Especially when I got voice recognition in my phone.
