Four Warnings on MFD

This morning I picked up four bags of sand and put them in the boot of the car. As I set off I noticed four different warning signs on the multi function display.
  • Check ABS
  • Check VSA
  • Check Brake
  • Tyre Pressure low
Having returned the short distance home I took the bags of sand out and started the car and the warning lights again came on. I disconnected the battery for 5 minutes tried again and they still came on. I then tried swapping the Hondata ECU to the standard one and still they come on !

I have tried to initialise the tyre deflation warning to reset it but it wont allow me to.

Has anyone any ideas how I can reset them or is it a garage job ?

4 bags of sand @ 25 kg each?

So 100kg..... equal to 1 largish person?

So i don't think the sand is to blame.

As for the faults. I can't help, but hopefully someone else will.
Hope i put your mind at ease regards to the weight.

Try disconnecting the battery for 15+ minutes.

I have the battery disconnected as I type so will wait to see if that fixes it.

I can only assume it didnt like the weight in the boot as the bags were very heavy and I struggled to lift each one in.

so 1.2kg then

In all seriousness could of been the weight as if you struggled depending on size of bad and shape and density its packed could be anywhere from 15kg upto go knows.

Brakes may of been bordering on a fault then that tipped them over kind of like coming in late from the pub your mrs is going to let it slide but then you mention her dress makes her arse look big and its game over

As a comparison, i recently loaded my 9th Gen with 20 bags of Pea shingle, way way over its safe load limit. the car was almost bottoming out on speed bumps etc. not one single warning light on, so i'd hazard a guess that these lights came on by co-incidence.

Problem fixed !!

Disconnected battery for an hour and then tried again. Still had the warning lights on so I decided to drive it round the block and after a couple of hundred yards they all went out !

Seems it just needed to sort itself out with a short drive !!

I'm convinced it was down to the weight (4 x 50kilo bags of grit sand) which was all at the back of the boot instead of being spread round and it was well down on the rear springs and the steering was very light.

Glad indeed - but it can't be the weight ? - I drove (I jest not) from Norway to the UK, with some 500kg of 'stuff' onboard, although it was split between the back and boot

I thought 50kg bags had been outlawed ?

I remember handballing 23 tonnes of Nitram (twice a week) in 50kg bags back in my early career, it really doesn't do you a lot of good.

I was rather grateful they reduced the bag weight to 25kg max !!

btw.. Couldn't you have folded the magic seats up and loaded the bags on the floor ?
The weight would've been more evenly distributed.

It's also a good job VoSA/Traffic cops didn't pull you.. That WOULD'VE been around a thousand pound fine for you !!
