It can be done, it's in the Settings menus

Go to Settings screen 2, and then down to Clock

Here you'll see Clock Type - 12H or 24H.

Change to 12H and you're sorted

Ah right - yeah I do have sat nav, can't believe that option has been left out if you don't have sat nav!!

Sorry to hear that!

Why on earth did they put a 24 hour clock into a UK market car, (sat-nav or not) without an option to switch settings?! Strange, isn't it?!

it's not something as stupid as spinning through the hours is it?

I've had that on a couple of cheapo watches for the kids.

cycle goes 1,2,3.....23,24,1,2,3....11,12,1,2,3...

can't try it as I have sat nav - but maybe?

Have a look in the manual under the stereo settings section.

Press the stereo power button for more than 2 seconds and then one of the numbered buttons on the stereo (maybe 6) gives you the 12/24 hour option. Is that what you want?

I don't have the manual here, but I could check tonight if you want?

the manual (page 266 on) refers to setting the clock for cars 'with audio system' (use buttons 1,2 & 3 on the radio) and 'without audio system' (use buttons under the clock).

However, with the possible exception of the (quite possibly imaginary!) original 'S' spec (not Type S, just S), all Civs have an audio system of one sort or another, so not sure whats going on there...

Thanks to Matt I now have it sorted.... Hold down stereo power button (stereo must be on ) for 2 secs,..then press button 6 this gives you the option for 12 or 24 hour clock, select the one you want, and away you go... This is also detailed on page 215 of the Type S manual .. I still dont know why they put this function on the stereo button and not on the Clock button, but there you go ,,.. Thanks again Matt.... and to everybody else for thier help... Gers
