CISBO Parking Sensors
Following on from the DIY parking sensors thread, I wanted to hear from people specifically of their experiences with CISBO parking sensors.
I fitted mine and although after having tilted them upwards they seem to work fine 80-90% of the time, they still give a lot of false readings. I am trying to find out if their is a common theme to the false alarms. I have found that: - They often went off (solid beep) before tilting upwards. Although now they are better. - Sometimes I put the car in reverse and, although there is nothing nearby, they give off the constant tone. - It seems worst in busy car parks (e.g. busy supermarkets) So, if you have fitted CISBO sensors, I would like to hear from you if: a) You have had no problems and they only go off when you really are near an object b) They seem to sometimes go off when you wouldn't expect and specifically when this happens most often (rain, car park, etc) Thanks! |

Hi Mattlittle,
Just had my ES fitted this afternoon with a 4 sensor kit which had identical items (4 sensors, identical black CPU box and identical cigarette lighter powered LED display that is dash mountable) as the Cisbo but were branded Safe Speed (guess its the same the manufacturer but allowed multi-branding of the product). Bought the kit from Ebay for £25. Got a recommended mechanic to fit for me - I didn't have the confident to do it as a DIY project. It took the mechanic a few hours - I think he had trouble with the rear bumper. Just out of curiousity, how long did it took you on a DIY basis? The kit worked fine in the garage; detecting the mechanic as he moved from side to side when I put the car in reverse. Backed onto a wooden barn door after leaving the garage and it couldn't detect it until I was almost up against it !!! That was a worry. Tried again on a metal garage door and it worked perfectly, got a constant beep from 0.6m On both occassions, it was raining - this may have affected the kit's performance. I haven't got the constant beep when there's nothing behind me and I haven't yet tested it out in the supermarket car park. Probably try it tomorrow and let you know. |
