Turn off sat-nav?

Does anyone know how to turn off the sat-nav once it has been turned on?

I know you can turn off the display with the button on the dash, but the system is still running, the DVD still spinning...

I know it silly, but I like to have turned on the bits I'm using, and turned off the things I'm not.
It's the same with the appliances at home, If the stereo is not in use, it's turned off... I never have been a fan of 'standby' modes, and not for reasons of carbon footprint
