Auto re-lock

Hi all,

I have the 07 model and I noticed that If I unlock the car BUT not open any door the car will lock automatically after about 5 mins. Can anybody verify this? Are there any other similar features for the 07 model?

My '07 does this also, and I think you will find that virtually any recent car with remote locking will do it.

It is a safeguard in case you accidentally unlock the car (e.g. while putting the keys away inside the house) and don't know that you have done it.

It also self-locks on my 06 EX, or at least it has since the MICU/Door switch was changed. It locks after about 1 minute.

Actually I think you're right. Around 30 seconds would be nearer the mark I reckon.

As long as you don`t open a door after unlocking the car will auto lock after 30 seconds, it does tell you this in the handbook

Your car won't lock itself, you still have to push the button. But when you UNlock it, and don't open any door, it wil RElock itself after 30 sec.

Stupid Belgian...

My '01 Civic Coupé does this also. I think it's some kind of mandatory thing.

One thing to be aware of (it happened on our Corsa) is that if you open a door and the door light switch is faulty, even after you have been in the car it can relock as the car thinks it has no be opened.

And the good thing about this forum (unlike many) is that I've yet to see a 'RTFM! ' comment
