Remap Booked with Celtic Tuning

Hi guys,

Just letting you know that I have a remap booked with Celtic next week at their HQ in Cornwall. I'm very much looking forward to it. I'm confident that, as usual, the guys will do a great job.

I will be getting rolling road dyno charts as well. Expected remapped bhp is likely to be around 220.

I will provide some feedback after my appointment.

All the best,
Steve

According to Parkers it's 147bhp standard.

Impressive figures from just a remap.

Hoping so! Just hope the turbo is up to it and the dpf doesn't restrict it.

Good luck - looks like you'll be one of the first on here, 9th gen-wise.

It will be interesting to see if you get such a big change from stock up to 220..........Thats pretty much a 50% increase.........would other components not need to be uprated if such an increase were possible? Maybe the clutch etc?

the Map is something that I would have considered had my car not been a company vehicle, but as it stands I have instead gone for an in-line box from Chip-express.......serious FAF to install, but, it makes quite some difference. Not had it on a dyno, so dont know how much the figures have been affected, but I can say for sure, that the acceleration is hugely improved......

Let us all know when its done, and even better, chuck a picture of the dyno trace on here for us all to see?

Will do.

I always put my dyno traces on here. You can see my 8th Gen remap if you do a search.

I was looking to get a tuning box for mine but, as you say, it's an absolute nightmare to fit and remove etc. as there's very little room to work in to get to the rail.

As for uprated components, I don't expect there to be any issues. Hopefully, the clutch for the 9th Gen will be better than the 8th Gen. Luck of the draw I think.

You won't be able to tell if it's been remapped unless you actually drive the car and know how a standard car performs. Personally, I'm not particularly concerned about warranty.

As for being a "brave man", I don't look at it that way. Celtic are a superb tuning company with an excellent reputation in the industry and aren't in the business of ruining engines.

This will be the third car that they have remapped for me. Personally, I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Yep, they couldnt do it. The ecu is password protected. Looks like the protocol wasnt tested fully through the whole process. They will do it for me free when the password has been cracked. On the bright side, my car is running 171 bhp and 290 lb ft torque standard.
