Doesn't say it's needed in the service schedule, first service is 12500 miles. I sem to remember there was another thread about a dealer offering interim oil changes, certainly won't do any harm except to your wallet.

For £30 I would get it done. It is often recommended to do an early oil change to get rid of running in debris.

£30 is a very good price though! will probly get a free coffee and the car cleaned if u ask! it will do the engine good as there is a lot of wear in the engine in the first few miles as everything is loosening up. so could get rid of any bits in the oilthat you dont want!

personally i would go for it. but its totally up to you.

For £30 for a sump full of fully synthetic oil, bite his hand off!!! If you can buy a job lot of oil at that price buy a load and sell on here!!!
Best price usually is about £14 a litre in Halfords!!!!

Like the others say £30 is a great price and it would be a good idea. I might ring my dealer and ask what they recommend now I've done 1000 miles, if I can get it done for £30 I think I definately will do.

I bet you it isn't the recommended oil at that price.

That would be interesting if there was a warranty claim and the dealer had put wrong oil in!!!

Asked at my stealer the other day about changing the oil in the type R after only 1000 miles or so and they said they do not recommend this as the oil is of a special type to help running in. the oil that the stealer uses is mobil 1 supersyn which by all accounts is top of the range and he also said the ctr uses 6 litres of oil and the cost to do an oil filter change would be approx £135 british pounds. As you can probably agree my eyes were starting to exit my head and i bid the nice gentleman farewell i think i will wait untill the service or maybe have a go at changing the oil myself. i just thought after reading the running in threads on this forum that an oil change would be good so who is correct, the stealer or the engineer.More

Done 900 miles so went to see the dealer and booked in for the oil change and filter. He looked rather miffed when I asked what oil they would be replacing it with and it is Mobil synth, Guess thats why I didn,t get any goodies on purchase!
