yes, if your engine goes bang and Honda know you have got an aftermarket induction kit they will make every effort to prove it was that, that caused the problem.
But mods dont kill your warranty, like if your wipers stop working, obviously thats got nothing to do with an induction kit so its still covered. hope i havn't confused you lol Last edited by NEEMSTAR; 15th March 2008 at 15:39. |

I heard some opinions that induction kit may have a very bad effct on the engine. Some articles says tha the filtration ability is much worse! Is it true?

yes, and no... First up, fitting any sort of 'universal fit' or 'bargin bin' kit, is never going to be a good idea. These will NOT have been specifically designed for your car (sweeping generalisation, but I'm sure you get the idea However - buying something 'proper' from a well know and reputable firm is a different matter With regards to filtration - it's complex, but basically boils down to: To get increased performance from the engine, you need more, and denser air (again sweeping generalisation, but it's sound enough for this). The OEM Honda air filter has been designed with holes in it which let through any particles smaller than 'X' On the plus side, this filters out the bigger particles On the down side, it makes it more difficult for the air to get through too. If we then go to 2 extremes: 1) have a filter which lets NO particles through at all. Ok, so that's basically a bit of plastic across the intake. Plus side - absolutley no particles Down side - no air either... 2) take the filter out all togther Plus side - plenty of air! Down side - and any small birds which happen to flay past... A proper aftremarket induction kit will attempt to walk the fine line between OEM Honda and option 2. It will try and provide plenty of air, but the only way to really do this is by opening up the holes a bit - which then lets in particles that the OEM filter would have stopped. |

Just checked with K&N in case in wrong! The kit that you will get is in stock now with K&N so you will get it next week, but that kit is a U.S. spec kit only. There is a possibility that it wont fit or you might need to modify it to fit. Just check with your supplier that it can be returned with no charge before collecting it because if it is returned to K&N it will have a handling charge as its not for UK market. Dont mean to put you down! Please let me know if this kit does fit so i can sell these! |
